Global Conference for a Nuclear Power Free World 2012 YOKOHAMA
Creating the future, creating a new world
As damage inflicted by the radioactive contamination from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster spreads, we must think in a global context about what we can learn and where we are headed. It is time to say goodbye to nuclear power and create a new society centered around natural energy sources. Let us gather together beyond borders and generations, and take a step towards this new society.
Objectives of the Global Conference for a Nuclear Power Free World
To communicate a message from Japan: We must learn from Fukushima, exchange lessons about nuclear power from around the world and make clear the need to break away from nuclear power.
To propose action plans: We will bring together ideas from around the globe and propose action plans that can be carried out by Japan and other countries all over the world.
To discover kinds of action that can be taken: We will provide a venue where people can learn about actions we can take in daily life, and where new ideas and projects will be created and exchanged.
